Turn your head and cough
Submitted by spinnerty on Fri, 03/20/2009 - 3:16pmyesterday i went over to visit the lovely folks at the Hearing and Speech Center of Northern Cali to get a hearing test and have them pour some pink junk in my ear to make a mold for some ear plugos. after countless nights of loud sound systems and all that, i was pleasantly surprised that i could still hear pretty well above 18,000 hertz as well as really quiet mid-frequency tones. but yeah, if you're a music person, or just a person. it wouldn't be a bad idea to get this sort of thing checked out.

Layoffs Confirmed at RIAA, Estimates Approach 30...
The RIAA has now reduced a substantial amount of staff, according to information confirmed by the organization to Digital Music News. Earlier this week, sources pointed to "significant" layoffs in the range of 30, and chops across various regional, anti-piracy units.
The Washington, DC-based RIAA did not initially respond to inquiries, though representative Cara Duckworth eventually confirmed details by email early Thursday morning. "Can't confirm number but I can confirm there were layoffs," Duckworth relayed. "As you can imagine, the music community is not immune from the impact of these tough economic times." Some staffers may have also been released from headquarters.
